The country is gripped by another sex scandal! It's been a while since we had one. After the Anwar-scandal, everything else has been kinda boring so far. So our source of entertainment has come from a very unlikely source....a very quiet and unassuming Health Minister from Johor. But true to Malaysian politician fashion, he basically got caught in a hole and starts digging. If you know what i mean. So let's break it down.
A video of his exploits was distributed to the press, showing him with another woman in a hotel room. He admits that he is the person in the video and the chinese press even went to the extend of printing a supposedly interview with his wife who reportedly said she forgives him (what was she to say? I am going chop his testicles off and feed it to raging baboons?). After that he holds a press conference to resign from all posts in the party and government. At this point, I had nothing but my utmost admiration for him. I thought it was fantastically brave and noble of him to do this and I would have gone all out to support him as did his colleagues but this is where the good times stopped. These are some of things he said:-
1) My biggest mistake was to work too hard for the party and government until I was successful and made enemies. Well you idiot, they biggest mistake you made was to have an affair and got caught!
2) My other mistake was to continue going to the same hotel and same room. Well, cant argue there Einstein! Even the most rookie of adulterers who has an ounce of common sense or have watched TV will know that you take this out of all your usual and normal haunts.
3) Other mistakes : I was too honest. How about just being plain dumb and arrogant.
4) Comment : I was hoping Malaysians will be forgiving but they are acting holier than thou.
5) Comment : Others also have affairs but no one knows about it. That's because they are scum but smart unlike you who is scum and so darn stupid.
Notice not once did he apologize to his family for the freaking embarassment he has caused them nor did he apologize to the people who supported him and voted for him. He is acting as if all he has done is alright and him being caught was the fault of others. While I dont condone people taping your privacy (makes me wanna be careful with those hotel rooms. geez!), Chua Soi Lek is just a cheater, adulterer and a pretty darn stupid and arrogant one at that. As a public figure, his message is (pay attention now boys and girls):-
1) Don't work hard or you will make enemies who will harm you
2) Don't be honest. Lie and cheat the people who have trusted you, including your family
3) When you are wrong, blame others for not understanding and for finding you out
4) Don't apologize to your family. You don't have to, they are your family and should by default forgive you.
I am no saint and definitely not without sin and that is why I am not a public figure and earning all those big bucks from concessions and graft.
And all this has made me realize a good way to make money. I can open a hotel and the motto will be "WE HAVE NO CAMERAS! Not even security ones! And we gurantee a different room everytime, even when you are too dumb to ask for it." Our target audience will be politicians and entertainers who break up with fiancee or wives using SMS because they are cowards and scum. Anyone wanna invest in my "venture"?
